Poetry reading and creative writing workshop

All welcome to poetry reading.
 
As part of the Beyond the Shadow of a Doubt exhibition, there will also be a poetry reading and creative writing workshop at Hartlepool Art Gallery on 27th October with internationally-known poets and Teesside University creative writing academics Bob Beagrie and Andy Willoughby.
 
Building Bridges Ekphrastic Workshop with award winning writers Middlesbrough poets Bob Beagrie and Andy Willougby will lead a workshop in creative writing inspired by art. Using the work in the current exhibition by Saud Baloch - participants will create poems and short prose pieces which can then be submitted to Ek Zuban Press’s Building Bridges webpage for possible online publication and read out at the evening launch of The Building Bridges Anthology later in the day.

Building Bridges Launch
Building Bridges is an arts council funded project that has brought groups of writers from indigenous and migrant/refugee backgrounds together to write creatively about works of art in Greater Manchester, Middlesbrough and Finland. An anthology of work has been produced after a series of workshops and live events in the various locations led by various local poets. The reading will involve
Teesside writers included in the book and participants from the afternoon workshop in the gallery.
Time 6.30 pm – 8.30pm 27th October Entrance Free
 
 
The creative writing workshop responding to Saud Baloch’s work will take place from 4.00pm to 6.00pm, followed by a poetry reading at 6.30pm.
 
Beyond the Shadow of a Doubt is open now in the Apse Gallery and runs until Saturday 11th November.
