Summerhill manages to respectfully combine sensitive conservation work with the rigour of BMX racing, orienteering, archery and equestrian galas effortlessly. This 100 acre site on the western edge of Hartlepool is an open-access free attraction which boasts an annual events programme. Since it opened in 1997 over 90,000 saplings have been planted, hedgerows have been faithfully restored. A visit to Summerhill wouldn’t be complete without a closer inspection of the mighty Boulder Park, the largest of its type in Northern Europe. A call to the Tourist Information Centre will put you in the picture as to what events are scheduled.

Quads 4 All’ offers super quad bike action aimed at three different age groups with bikes ranging from 40cc, 50cc & 80cc. Party bookings are welcomed with kiddies birthday parties a speciality. Take time to explore the picturesque villages that surround Hartlepool. Hart Village, Elwick, Greatham and Dalton Piercy all offer something for the visitor at a relaxed pace within beautiful surrounds, several benefit from interconnecting walks. As well as football and rugby, the town boasts three fine golf courses. The links course at Seaton Carew was one of the first 50 courses to be built in the world and is frequently the host of championship events. Hartlepool Golf Club and High Throston Golf Club are also popular sites, breathing fresh sea air into many a golfer’s game.
