Winner of many tourism and visitor attraction awards, Hartlepool's Maritime Experience is a fascinating and authentic re-creation of an 18th century seaport which tells the story of life at sea at the time of Captain Cook, Nelson and the Battle of Trafalgar. Now with 'single ticket' the attraction features the Historic Quayside, Museum of Hartlepool and HMS Trincomalee.

The award-winning Museum of Hartlepool is the finest free show in town and is home to a vast array of exhibits chronicling the town's past.
In the Museum of Hartlepool you can meander through the town's history, dipping backwards and forwards a couple of centuries at will. Working models, puzzles, sound effects and life-size exhibits help to bring the past alive. |

Formerly Christ Church, gallery is a magnificent venue for the display of visual art and museum exhibitions. Boasting a varied programme, featuring work from the permanent art collections, and by both local and national artists. Don't miss a trip up the 100ft church tower for some of the best views of Hartlepool. |

The Town Hall Theatre's busy programme features some excellent professional music and drama performances, but also hosts productions for over a dozen community groups.
The 406-seater Victorian theatre provides excellent workshop facilities for dance and performance and is now even licensed to hold weddings. |

We organise many events throughout the year, including the biggest - the bi-annual Hartlepool Maritime Festival. The next will be in July 2008 when we expect a fabulous event in the build-up to the Tall Ships Races, in Hartlepool in 2010. Other events include the Fireworks and Music Spectacular, the Lantern Boat Parade and the Hartlepool Horticultural Show. |

The Borough Hall is home to many varied entertainment programmes and is open all year round for private & public functions including civil wedding ceremonies.
The Borough Hall has hosted events as diverse as The Music and Beer Festival, BBC Question Time, world snooker and boxing matches. The hall and several rooms are available to hire at very reasonable rates. |

The Tourist Information Centre (TIC) provides a large range of local, regional and national tourist information for local residents and visitors. Located within Hartlepool Art Gallery there is also a gift shop selling a wide range of specialist items. |

The Arts Development Team is part of the Tees Valley Local Arts Development Agency (LADA) for the Borough of Hartlepool. We work closely with, and on behalf of, Arts Council England, North East, to deliver community arts development in Hartlepool and improve arts opportunities for all residents in the area.

Hartlepool Museums have an excellent educational team, with programmes, workshops and resources to support the national curriculum at Key Stages 1-4 across a wide spectrum of subject areas including history, numeracy, literacy, art, science and technology and citizenship. Family learning activities are also delivered.
