IF parents are concerned about how their children are going to be looked after or entertained over the Summer holiday period they need to look no further than the OSCAR (Out of school Care) programme
A whole host of full-day activities are planned for children between the ages of 3 and 16 at OSCAR'S new home - West Hartlepool Rugby Club on Catcote Road.
Parents are able drop off their children from 8.00am with breakfast provided for them on arrival. They then embark on an action-packed day of fun and thrills prior to being collected by parents before 5.45pm.
An impressive programme of holiday activities awaits youngsters as Sandra Robinson, the Council's Out of School Coordinator explains.
"Our new venue at West Rugby Club is ideal for the children because we have lots of space indoors and an expanse of grassed area which is great for outdoor activities.
"This year the staff have put together a really impressive programme to make sure that children have a fantastic time over the Summer holidays.
"We have activities within the centre such as Olympic crafts, a Disney theme day, model making and sports and games, but we also have some great trips to places such as Preston Park, Mowbray Park in Sunderland, Castle Eden Walkway and Pallister Park, Middlesbrough.
"If parents are having to juggle working and looking after their children during the Summer holidays, OSCAR'S could just be the answer. Children have a great time with us and parents can relax knowing that their children are in safe hands.
"We have a really experienced team and offer an inclusive service catering for all children's needs."
The fun gets under way on Monday 23 July and the weekday sessions run until Friday 31 August. For a full programme or further details telephone the OSCAR Playcentre on 07771 940463 or e-mail s.robinson@hartlepool.gov.uk
